In reaction to the allegations levelled against him by the deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi, son of Ondo State governor, Babajide Akeredolu has threatened to sue Hon. Agboola.
Babajide vowed to take legal action against the deputy governor who had on Saturday, September 19 alleged that the governor’s son made N433m from the N4.3bn stashed in a secret government account in the state.
He expressed delight that there is a face behind the accusation and video evidence of Hon. Agboola mentioning his name. Babajide said he couldn’t wait for the deputy governor to lose his immunity so he can sue him.
It was gathered that the deputy governor made the allegation during a campaign of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
Agboola during the campaign said the N433m was discovered during auditing of the state’s accounts adding that the Governor Akeredolu-led government was being run by his family.
He accused Babajide Akeredolu of siphoning the said amount of money as consultancy fee without rendering any service.
Meanwhile, he promised to abolish the consultancy fee if elected as governor noting that the fee had been a means by the present government to launder state funds.
You will recall that Agboola had promised to reduce tuition of students in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, to N50,000 if elected as governor come October 10 (read more here).
