The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has denied having knowledge of Genevieve Nnaji rumoured mental illness.
Genevieve has been inactive on all social media platforms for some months, and got her fans worried after she unfollowed everyone and deleted all her Instagram posts on Tuesday.
LaterLater Tuesday, a popular blogger revealed that the 43-year-old actress has been battling mental illness and is now in a rehab centre outside of Nigeria.
Reacting to the news, the President of the AGN, Emeka Rolland, told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that he was not aware of the viral rumour, as he is hearing the news for the first time.
Rolland said, “I will have to reach out to her since I am just getting this news from you now. I have not learnt of that.
”I’ll reach out to her to know whether she is safe or not after your call. I cannot just conclude with hearsay or rumour.”
