Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, has slammed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, among other members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for their position on a consensus candidate for the 2023 Presidential Elections.
The Rivers Governor stressed the idea that a consensus arrangement is a pile of rubbish and fake news used in deceiving PDP members to submit their franchise to candidates that are not of their choice.
While addressing PDP delegates and members in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, yesterday, the aspirant targeting the presidency, said consensus could only happen through equity, justice, and fairness in the forthcoming primaries.
Wike Kicks Against Consensus in PDP
According to him, Wike remembered telling a former Senate President that he would not support a consensus arraignment in their party.
Briefly citing his statement, he said, speech in brief: “I am not here for any consensus rubbish. I have told people not to deceive our party members with fake news about consensus. We all believe in consensus, but it must come with equity, justice, and fairness.
