For the umpteenth time, the Presidency has tackled Bishop Mathew Kukah, the Archbishop of Sokoto Diocese.
While reacting to his Easter message, the Presidency accused Bishop Kukah of lying about his position on Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East.
The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu noted that Bishop Kukah did not speak like a cleric by saying that the Boko Haram terrorism has worsened under the present administration.
Everyevery.ng gathered that Bishop Kukah, in his Easter message, accused the Buhari-led regime of rehabilitating and releasing repentant Boko Haram insurgents, neglecting their victims.
Presidency Tackles Bishop Kukah
Meanwhile, the Presidential aide opined that Kukah said inexplicable things in his Easter message, adding that it is wrong for the cleric to have stated that insurgency is worse than it was in 2015.
Garba, who added that ideology should not stand in the way of facts and fairness, urged Nigerians to continue to support the ongoing efforts by Mr Buhari’s administration to secure the country and move it forward.
The Presidency challenged Kukah to visit Borno or Adamawa to inquire about the difference between 2014 and 2021.
Speaking on the hijab crisis in Kwara state, Garba described it as a matter that concerns the state, noting that courts had adjudicated it.
However, Garba accused Bishop Kukah of playing partisan politics by dragging the federal government into the Hijab crisis.
