President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Dr Akinwumi Adesina on his re-election as the President of the African Development Bank Group, AfDB.
In a tweet on Thursday, the President described Adesina’s re-election as a well-deserved victory.
Buhari expressed optimism that Dr Adesina will accomplish even more of his lofty vision for the Bank in his second term as the AfDB president.
However, he thanked the African Union, AU for its early endorsement of Dr Adesina, and also thanked the shareholders of the bank who worked tirelessly for his re-election victory.
Buhari further reiterated his administration’s promise to fully ensure a successful second term for Dr Adesina as he also prayed that the Almighty God will continue to strengthen him and his team to deliver even greater development to the African continent.
Meanwhile, former Minister of finance, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has expressed delight over the re-election of Dr Adesina, in a tweet, Okonjo Iweala congratulated the AfDB president as she also wished him a fruitful new tenure.
