The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye has revealed that the journey to the recovery amidst the Coronavirus pandemic has begun.
While conducting the ministry’s Special Dispensation Sunday Service live on television, he announced to the congregation that an end might be coming to the lockdown order enforced because the pandemic will soon be over.
According to him, he might not be having more than just one more Special Dispensation Sunday Service with them. “ I have good news to all of you, I can tell you that the journey to recovery of this pandemic has begun. I might not have more than one more Sunday with you and your Pastors will resume again”
The General Overseer however stressed that the journey to the end of the recovery might not be rapid but will be steady and gradual. After announcing this he also encouraged that though the medical practitioners have tried tremendously to tame the scourge of the pandemic, all of the glory should be given to God when the pandemic is over.
Pastor Adeboye also appreciated the governments at all levels for their relentless efforts across Nigeria, but advised that next time a committee would be set up on a pandemic, men of God should be selected as members.
“The government has done credibly well, but I want to suggest that when next such committees would be set up on a case like this men of God should be selected. I am not talking of a small boy like me, but I am talking of Chief Imams, Archbishops so they can help with the spiritual aspects of the issue.”
He also also advised that caution should be taken against the relapse of the virus, using other pandemics like ebola that relapsed as an instance. “Please don’t stop being hygienic, please remain hygienic.”
In his words, he counseled against overseas trip after Nigeria witnesses appreciable recovery from the Coronavirus pandemic. “Even after the lockdown is gone any journey abroad that is not very important, postpone it, because God is going to give us victory here and in Africa before it extends to the other parts of the world. So I want to advise that you, stop all the jumping around for like one or two months.”
The Clergy did not end his message to Nigerians until he reminded them to pray against fire accidents and flooding across the nation. He said though the country has seen numerous fire accidents after the warnings he gave earlier in the year, he emphasized that the big fire is still on the way.
