A young lady has taken poisonous substance in an attempt to take her own life as well as writing down a suicide note on her birthday.
The woman identified as Dorothy Edet tried to commit suicide on her birthday and was found unconscious in her apartment in Uyo on Sunday morning after taking some poisonous substances.
She was however rescued by people who saw her suicide note which she posted on Facebook. The rescuers broke the door and rushed her to the hospital where she was revived.
Her heartbeaking note, written in the form of a poem, revealed the turbulent she has been going through.

Friends and sympathisers have taken to Facebook to mobilise support, including financial support, for the woman, who appeared to have been battling depression before the suicide attempt.
Ms Edet, in the heartbreaking message, wrote on how she would love to fight for women’s rights, be hard on rapists, and be a voice for the voiceless.
A survival party on her birthday has also been hosted for her by friends.
