Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reacted to last night’s UCL loss to Turkish side, Basaksehir.
Manchester United have been tipped to bounce back from their Premier League loss to rival, Arsenal at Old Trafford. Salt was added to United’s injury as Basaksehir claimed their first ever European match win.
After two great win over the groups’ high ranked teams, PSG & RB Liepzig, the Red Devils game against Basaksehir should be an easy one.
United fell to two costly defensive errors as Demba Ba and Edin Visca hit the back of the net of Manutd’s Dean Henderson’s goal.
Anthony Martial however pulled one back but was not enough as United struggled for creativity at the other end of the pitch. Premier league former players, Demba Ba, Rafael, and Martin Skrtel had a very good game against the English side.
Reacting to the loss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, said the performance against the hard-working Turkish side was not good enough.
The Norwegian labelled the errors leading to the two goals scored as “Unforgivable”.
In his words, “The first one is that we play a short corner and forget about the man up top. That is unforgivable.
“The second one as well, we are not very well organised to counter the press.
“You don’t turn up and get three points in the Champions League” he added.
The manager’s call for drafting midfielder, Nemanja Matic into defense after Axel Tuanzebe was substituted over caution was questioned.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer threw in all of his attacking options but there was no way through as the team’s good away form comes to end.
Next up for Manutd‘s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a tricky away game to Everton. The under-fire manager said,“They (two losses) have set us back a lot”.
