Liverpool Goalkeeper Loris Karius Joins Union Berlin
Two Liverpool goalkeepers Loris Karius and Kamil Grabara have both left the English Premier League side. Loris Karius has completed a move to Bundesliga side Union Berlin on a season-long loan. The 27-year-old German international ended his loan spell with Besiktas in May when he was nearing the end of a two-year stint with the Turkish side.
Karius, who joined Liverpool for £4.7m from Mainz in 2016, last played for Liverpool in the 2018 Champions League final loss to Real Madrid of which he was solely blamed for the loss. Union Berlin finished 11th in the Bundesliga last season. Union Berlin has now signed two Liverpool players on loan, they signed Taiwo Awoniyi of Nigeria last week and have now signed Loris Karius.
Liverpool’s 21-year-old Polish goalkeeper Kamil Grabara, has also joined Danish side AGF Aarhus on loan for the remainder of the season. The young goalkeeper returned to his country-club on a season long loan since Liverpool’s two goalkeepers are doing very well, he might not get good playing time so it was only wise for him to joined a club where he will get the playing time.
