Popular Nigerian singer, Simi has signed a partnership deal with Platoon, a UK-based record label owned by Apple Music.
Simi joined other Nigerian artists such as DJ Cuppy and Mr Eazi signed on to Platoon. The sonorous singer made the announcement on her Instagram page with a video in which she had a meeting with the Platoon family.
The ‘Duduke‘ crooner also posted the video on microblogging platform, Twitter which she captioned, ‘‘New week and new deal. I’m officially part of the @weareplatoon family!”
She introduced herself to the Platoon family while she also gave Lauryn Hill, Adele, and Asa as her music inspiration.
Platoon Music, which was acquired by Apple Music in 2018, works with artists to produce, distribute, and sell their content while using analytics to figure out the target market for their style of music.
The CEO of Platoon Records, Denzyl Feigelson has since welcomed Simi to the Platoon family saying, ”We’re are really looking forward to seeing your music spread out to the entire globe, which it should”.
Simi has also announced the release of her EP ‘RestlessII’. This was after his husband, Adekunle Gold had earlier announced the coming music project.
