Hoodlums attack days after launch of Operation Amotekun, two men kidnapped.
According to reports, there were two men kidnapped by hoodlums in Ikun Oba Akoko Road in the Akoko West Local Government Area in Ondo state over the weekend.
This is coming barely a week after the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu launched the Western Nigeria Security Network aka Operation Amotekun in the state.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped on their way back to Oba Akoko from the 2020 Ikun celebration that took place in Ikun Akoko.
One of the two men kidnapped has been identified as Sarujudeen Alao while the other victim is yet to be identified.
The victims were driving home in Alao’s car when the kidnappers abducted them and took them to an unknown destination.
A source said that the Amotekun officers were usually securing the area that the hoodlums attacked but unfortunately were not there at the time of the kidnap.
The families of the kidnap victims are yet to be contacted for details of ransom payments or possible release of the victims.
According to the Ondo state Police Public Relations Officer, there are ongoing efforts by the police force to rescue the victims. He said,
