A few days after US President, Donald Trump revealed his intention to ban the TikTok app in the country, Tech giants, Microsoft has expressed interest in buying the social media app.
In a blog post, Microsoft (MSFT) said its CEO, Satya Nadella has held talks with Trump about buying the app, which is owned by Chinese company ByteDance.
The company expressed commitment to acquiring TikTok with the plan to subject it to a complete security review and providing proper economic benefits to the United States, including the United States Treasury adding that it will move quickly to talk with ByteDance in a matter of weeks.

Microsoft said it would continue to dialogue with the United States Government, including with the President.
According to Microsoft, the operating model for the service would be built to ensure transparency to users as well as appropriate security oversight by governments in these countries.
On Friday, July 31, President Trump announced that he will be banning the app from the United States over claims that the Chinese government uses it to spy on Americans.
If Microsoft buys majority shares of the Tiktok app, it means it would own and operate TikTok services in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
