…Gives Insights on Incessant Religious Discords, Insecurity in Nigeria
A passionate Catholic member, a true worshipper and God lover, Mr Samuel Ikwegbue, known to his friends and some family members as the oil minister, doled out some pieces of advice to Nigerians on the importance of observing regular thanksgiving.
He spoke about God’s grace, wonders and mercy in his life and that of his family, stressing that the travels, business trips and journey mercies are more than enough to give God the deserved glory, praises, worship and adorations during thanksgiving day.
Mr Ikwegbue said this on Sunday, after the worship service in one of the Catholic parishes in Kubwa, Abuja.
To buttress his point, the oil minister said, “The reason for observing this thanksgiving is to appreciate God in heaven for finding it fit to keep me and my family alive. I’m not better than those in the mortuary, those in the hospital, even those who died today, but God see it fit to grant my family good health.
“He also blesses us in different ways, talking about financially, protection from unseen forces, among other things, which is the reason for the service today.
IKwegbue cited the message of Arch-Bishop Ignatius Kagama of Kubwa Diocese, stressing that he directed church members and Nigerians, in general, to be human and show humility.
He further stated that the good Bishop implores Christians to look after the poor within our midst, as the theme of the service centred on addressing issues regarding those affected by poverty and the need to extend a helping hand.
Speaking on reasons Nigeria is still suffering from religious conflicts, ethnic divide and other similar crisis, Mr Ikwegbue attributed the causes to political incitements.
