Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has hinted that he would like his former boss Arsene Wenger to return to the club. The Spaniard said he wants to bring former Gunners manager Arsene Wenger back to the club in some capacity and has already spoken to him about a possible return.

72-year-old Arsene Wenger helped Arsenal to three Premier League titles and won the FA Cup on seven different occasions in his 22 years in charge of the North London club. Mikel Arteta spent five years with him before retiring. Speaking Wenger, he said: “We would be delighted to have him much closer.”
He “also said: I think he would have a great time just seeing the environment that he can create around him when he’s around this place because of the respect, admiration and the love that everybody at the club has for what he’s done, as well as for what he represents as a person.”
Mikel Arteta took over from Unai Emery as Gunners coach in 2019 after 19 months after Wenger resigned from coaching. Arteta has helped Arsenal win one FA Cup but could not help them secure either a Champions League spot or Europa League spot for the first Tim in more than 23 years.
Arsenal currently seats in the fifth-place position in the league table after 12 games this season. Arsenal coach said he had been communicating with Wenger when he was asked if a formal offer had been made to bring the Frenchman back to Emirates Stadium.
He” e admitted that he spoke with the former Arsenal coach when they went out to see a movie, and he said bringing him back was one of the things he discussed with the FIFA now official. He will like to have Wanger back in the club, even if not as a coach, but he should be closer to the team.
