Ahead of Uganda’s Presidential elections, many things have been said about Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, also known as Bobi Wine, a popular Presidential Candidate seeking to put an end to the reign of Yoweri Museveni who has ruled the country since 1986.
It was gathered that many of Bobi Wine’s supporters have been harassed and arrested by security operatives in the country while Twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp have been banned in Uganda by the Museveni-led government.
This article is a compilation of some facts about Bobi Wine, a 38-year-old Politician who had earlier raised an alarm that the private security company that has been guarding his home for the last 12 years was withdrawn ahead of the poll.

1.The young Ugandan politician is born Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu on February 12, 1982, he was a singer, actor, and businessman prior to his election as Member of Parliament for Kyadondo County East constituency in Wakiso District.
2.Kyagulanyi attended Makerere University in Kampala, where he studied music, dance, and drama, graduating with a diploma and later returned to the International University of East Africa where he studied law in 2016.
3.Bobi Wine, who is married to Barbara Kyagulanyi, known as Barbie, with whom he has four children has won several awards, such as the prestigious HiPipo Music Award and Pearl Of Africa Music Award.
4.In 2017, the young politician was arrested and detained when he opposed a bill introduced by Museveni’s ruling party to amend the Constitution and remove the 75-year age limit for presidential candidates.
5.Bobi wine started a group known as the Ghetto Republic of Uganda before he joined the National Unity Platform party to contest the 2021 Presidential elections.
6.Kyagulanyi has also supported several practical projects to improve conditions for the poor.
7.Bobi wine was named as an ambassador for Save the Children’s EVERY ONE campaign in 2014.
