COVID-19 in Oyo State
About two days after 30 company workers were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in Oyo State, eight more workers in the same establishment have also been confirmed positive to the virus.
Thought name of the company said to be located in the South- West local government area of the state has not been revealed, the state governor Seyi Makinde has confirmed that 38 staff members of the company are victims of the virus.
Makinde gave the update in a tweet earlier today, where he added that the number of recoveries recorded in the state is now forty-six as eighteen more persons have gotten their second negative test results from Coronavirus.
According to the Oyo state governor, two other samples sent in for tests have returned positive, but the victims are already dead and buried.
Despite the number of recoveries, the total number of deaths in the state has come up to 4, while the total number of positive cases are 118 in total.
“ The test results of two suspected cases from the University College Hospital, Ibadan, who passed away and have been buried also came back positive. So the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State is 118, and the total number of COVID-19 related death is four.”
