The Attorney-General of the federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) has recommended three people that could be the next possible Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Boss.
The present EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu is expected to be replaced by President Muhammadu Buhari after allegations of irregularities in the diversion of recovered loots from the EFCC, insubordination and other discrepancies in his office.
The names of the possible candidates for the top agency job are; Ms Diseye Nsirim-Poweigba (retired police commissioner of Niger state), Mr Bala Ciroma (former head of operations at EFCC) and Mohammed Sani Usman (retired deputy inspector-general of police).
It was also learnt that Magu is not an option for appointment as he has been in acting position as the EFCC boss since 2015, with the senate repeatedly rejecting his appointment.
Ms Diseye is also thought to be less in the running than the other two candidates, with the former DIG Mohammed Sani Usman and Mr Bala Ciroma both at the top of the list.
