Actors often drop out of projects due to scheduling conflicts, creative differences between actor and studio, health issues or one controversy or the other. No matter what the cause may be, a replacement is always cast to fill in for the other actors.
You remember when you didn’t understand how movies and casting choices worked and were surprised when Dumbledore was a whole different person in the third installment of the Harry Potter franchise. Richard Harris played Albus Dumbledore in the first and second movie about Harry Potter. Unfortunately, the actor passed away in 2002 and the part was given to Michael Gambon, who first appeared in the third movie.
These three actors never filmed the sequels to their films.
1. Paul Walker( Brian O’ Connor)
Paul Walker’s untimely demise left Universal Studios with a series of challenges. One of them being how to complete Furious 7 without one it’s main characters. With the aid of special effects, they decided to use Paul’s brothers who stood in as body replacements for him at the movie set.
They also used old scenes filmed from the parts of previous installments of The Fast and the Furious franchise. They cut them out and fit them into a new film.
2. Terrence Howard(Colonel James Rhodes)
If you’ve seen the first Iron Man movie, you will know that the character we no know as war machine was played by a completely different actor. Terrence Howard(Big Momma’s house) was Colonel James Rhodes in the first Iron Man movie. However, he didn’t return for a sequel due to financial complaints. He claimed that what he was earning was too little and wanted his billing to match that of his co-star Robert Downey Jr. This caused the actor to part ways with the film and was replaced by Don Cheadle.
3. Hugh Jackman (Wolverine)
Although this film is yet to be released in theatres, i think it deserves a notable mention. The X men franchise is one of the pioneer superhero franchises raking in a total of $5.78 billion since the first X-men film was released in 2000.
X-men: The dark Phoenix, the latest installment will be the 12th film in the series and is set to arrive on June 7th 2019. One of the original cast of the series is Hugh Jackson who played Logan a.k.a The Wolverine for 17 years. However, he made his final appearance in the 2017 film titled “Logan” which served as a proper and befitting send-off to the character. Since then, Jackman has stated that he won’t be reprising his role as Wolverine in any other future X-men movies since then.
