Peter Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, gave some conditions for the 2023 Presidential Election that would only guarantee him declaring interest in the electoral race.
On Twitter, supporters of the former Governor were quick to recommend him as the best candidate to run for the most influential position in Nigeria.
Obi, in a post, revealed that he would only contest if the ticket is zoned to the south.
He wrote, “Yes, I will step into the field to contest for the opportunity to serve this great country as President if my party, the @OfficialPDPNig, zones the ticket to the south. But if it is thrown open, Nigerians will also hear from me.”
Responding to his post, his followers on the micro-blogging platform rained accolades on the former Governor.
One of his supporters, @IkukuomaC, posted that he is currently setting up the former Governor’s campaign office across the 36 States !!! Setting up Peter Obi voluntary support group across all the 36 States, including telegram links for different support groups, Igbos in diaspora for Peter Obi 2023…Activated.
@FS_Yusuf said he has the best CV to lead Nigeria, especially at a time when the country has been brought to disrepute.
‘But he doesn’t have the CV to win a Nigerian Presidential election. What is missing? MONEY. I’d wish the rich Igbo folks can pour their support behind him to step up.’
