Workers will be spending two working days as public holidays, that is by Monday 2 and Tuesday 3, May 2022. The days would stand to mark both Workers’ Day and Eid-Al-Fitr consecutively.
The Federal Government, FG of Nigeria who made the announcement on Friday 29, spoke via the office of the Minister of Interior, Rauf Ogbeni-Aregbesola.
As contained in the statement issued by the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Interior, shauib Belgore, Aregbesola congratulated Nigerian workers on the occasion of ‘Workers’ Day’ and encouraged them to do more.
He spelt out the importance of working and noted that labour is the very essence of humanity, adding that humans are alive because of the work, and only that the dead are incapable of working.

the Minister, however, felicitated with the Muslim brothers that would also be marking Eid-Al-Fitr with their families and loved ones, urging them to imbibe and practice the spirit of love, peace, tolerance, self-denial, kindness and sacrifice.
He also congratulated them for witnessing a successful Ramadan fast and prayed them to utilise the period is the best of manner.
“The self-restraint, self-denial, sacrifice and deep spiritual consciousness that accompanied the fasting period should not end but be maintained and improved upon to be a better person and truth worshipper,” Aregbesola advised.
