As electorates in Edo State awaits the final result of the Saturday, September 19 governorship elections in the state, Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has issued a stan warning to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Wike, who is the National Chairman of the Edo State Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party warned the commission not to declare Edo state elections inconclusive.
He gave the warning during an interview in the Edo 2020 Situation Room adding that the results from about 2,000 polling units from the various wards have been submitted against the claim by INEC that 700 unit results have been submitted.
Also, he expressed worry that as at the time of the interview, INEC ought to have moved the results to the ward collation centres before they move to the local government collation centres.
Wike warned against allowing miscreants to disrupt the electoral process as he expressed optimism that the electoral body will keep to the promise of being transparent.
Meanwhile, in a tweet on Sunday, Wike expressed satisfaction at the outcome of the results announced so far. According to him, the results shows that godfatherism has been kicked out from Edo.
