Even now, Nyeson Wike’s earlier medical visit to see Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress, APC Presidential Candidate in London, United Kingdom, UK, is fresh in the minds of members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Most political enthusiasts are aware of Wike and his failed Presidential ambitions, both as flag bearer and running mate.
However, the Rivers State Governor is out looking for his interests and ways to engage other friends with benefits to help prosper his aspirations as his tenure as the sitting Governor draws is almost over.
Initially, reports revealed how PDP’s Presidential flag bearer, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and its members showed concern following Wike’s sudden frolickings with other parties and their chieftains.
The aspect of his association with other camps that wowed the minds of Nigerians was when he stretched the tentacles toward Peter Obi, Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, LP.
Also, another arrangement, which journalists have tagged; ‘Secret Meeting’ between Tinubu and Wike, took place on Monday in the same London, where the outcome, according to sources close to the APC flag bearer, was “Fruitful”.
The Rivers Governor’s angle is one aspect that might have triggered concerns, but that which has to do with highly critical members of the PDP also being part of the London meeting is what baffles most political observers.
It was learnt that, overall, 4 Governors from the APC and PDP attended the meeting, that is Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti, APC); Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos, APC);
Seyi Makinde (Oyo, PDP) and Ortom (Benue, PDP).
In the media, these Governors strongly speak against themselves and party affiliations, but, behind the scenes, they all lay in the same bed and are all in similar political romances.
While journalists refer to their gathering as a secret meeting, they (the politicians) call it a “Parley”, meaning there’s nothing to the Wike meets Tinubu narrative.
The conclusion from the source that briefed Newsmen on Governor Wike’s relations with other parties, is that “Atiku is also meeting with some APC Governors, why are they complaining? What is good for the goose is good for the gander. It is all part of the game and nothing more,” Saharareporters Twitter status has revealed.
