The Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University, LASU, Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun has disclosed that students of the institution are to resume in batches beginning from September.
While speaking on a radio interview monitored by Vanguard, the VC explained that 400, 500 and 600 levels students would resume before other levels of students would be allowed to resume.
According to him, the 400, 500 and 600 levels students would resume for two months with intensive lectures starting from 9 am – 3 pm daily for those that live off-campus.
He further explained that students in 200 level and 300 level are to resume for two months of lectures before the commencement of exams after the completion of 400, 500 and 600 levels resumption.
He stated that the resumption for the students in the 200 and 300 levels was divided into different days of the week adding that 300 level students would be on campus for lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Also, 200 level students would be on campus on Tuesdays and Thursday to maintain social distancing in a bid to protect the lives of the students and staff of the institution and to prevent them from contracting the Coronavirus disease.
Meanwhile, the VC opined that all precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 had been put in place by the management.
Professor Fagbohun, who stressed that regular hand washing and the use of facemask is compulsory added that isolation places have been provided in the university.
