The United States government has revoked visas of over 1,000 Chinese students and researchers.
According to the US state department, the action which was first of its kind since June 1 followed an order that was issued by President Donald Trump.
A State Department spokeswoman said some of the students and researchers were accused of stealing research information from American scientists working to develop a COVID-19 vaccine.
Meanwhile, she added that the US government will continue to welcome legitimate students and scholars from China who do not further the Chinese Communist Party’s goals of military dominance.
It was gathered that the order was issued after some of the students and researchers were accused of espionage and working for the Chinese communist party.
You will recall that Trump had in a May 29 proclamation declared that some Chinese nationals in the United States stole intellectual property and helped modernize China’s military.
