Plateau State today witnessed major unrest in the State House Assembly as hoodlums believed to be pro-Ayuba Abok, former Plateau Speaker’s supporters, stormed the premises to wreak havoc.
In the early hours of the day, the hoodlums gained access to disrupt an emergency meeting involving members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the and All Progressives Congress, APC, respectively.
It was reported that the security personnel in the Assembly premises were taken by surprise when the raging men invaded and made their way in and allegedly smashed the glass door of the gate.
Security Personnel Overpower Hoodlums in Plateau State
The hoodlums didn’t wholly succeed in their activity as the reprisal of the security guards almost immediately overpowered them.
The thugs loyal to Ayuba Abok was battling the police, a youth group believed to be pro-Abok also stormed the Assembly premises.
This incident led to a bloody clash between the groups that damaged entrance doors and windows before normalcy was restored by security personnel drafted to the Assembly.
