A student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), identified as Daniel Mba, has committed suicide by jumping from the third-floor of a storey building on Friday, March 12.
The 300-level student of Biochemistry was reported to be caught in an examination malpractice which involve the use of his phone in the examination hall.
Mba’s phone was seized while the examination paper was torn for him to start afresh.
Following the incident, the deceased left the examination hall and went to his lodge, where he plunged from the third floor of his lodge around 11:34 pm, after the poisonous substances including rat poison he ingested failed to produce immediate result.
A source said after the incident, they rushed to the deceased room where they found rat poison, bleach containers and syringes.

The deceased house caretaker was alerted when they found the student struggling for life after plunging from the third floor.
The UNN student was immediately rushed to the Bishop Shanahan Hospital, Nsukka where he died in the early hours of Saturday, March 13.
