First City Monument Bank (FCMB) confirmed Olufemi Badeji’s appointment as its new Executive Director, Corporate and Investment Banking.
The lender disclosed in a statement made available to the investing public that the appointment of Badeji had been authorized by Nigeria’s Central Bank (CBN) with effect from October 2, 2019.
Olufemi Badeji’s Profile
Olufemi Badeji is in possession of a BSc. Degree in Electrical Engineering (magna cum laude) with a minor in mathematics from the University of Hartford, Connecticut, USA. He also holds an MSc. in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in computer and communications networks from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Manchester, USA. He received his MBA in Finance and Accounting from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, in 2006.
In the United States, Nigeria, and South Africa, Mr. Badeji has over 15 years of investment banking experience. He worked in the United States for the now-defunct Lehman Brothers and Houlihan Lokey. After moving back to Nigeria in 2009, he worked as a vice president at FCMB Capital Markets Limited. He joined Rand Merchant Bank in September 2011, where he became Head of Corporate Finance for Nigeria He was responsible for increasing and expanding customer relationships, as well as transaction origination, execution, and management.
Mr. Badejo’s investment experience includes raising capital (both debt and equity), corporate restructuring, financial services, infrastructure, telecommunications, and private equity investment. It also included providing financial advice to fast-moving consumer goods, IT services, oil & gas, the public sector, real estate, and specialized finance.
The new Executive Director has varied experience in investment banking and will have a positive impact on the FCMB Group as a whole by joining the FCMB Group Plc Board.
