I stumbled on an article lately that listed Barack Obama as the most stylish US president since John F Kennedy. With his fitted suits, youthful demeanour, and charisma, it’s easy to see why Obama is the most stylish president since the 80’s.
So, if I were to bring the debate home, who has been the most stylish president Nigeria has ever had? Style was missing from the vocabulary of most of our leaders during the military era so I fast forwarded to our democratic years.
President Buhari? Unfortunately, there’s nothing next level about his sense of style.
Goodluck Jonathan? Well, Kate Henshaw does more justice to his outfits than he does.
Umar Yaradua? We choose to focus on his other legacies.
Olusegun Obasanjo? His politics aside, Obasanjo, with his big, colourful Agbada, and his larger-than-life ‘swag’ Obasanjo, I believe, is the most stylish president we have had so far. Which other Nigerian president has rocked an Agbada with such class?
