Apart from stimulating the economies of the 34 states and the FCT in the communities where work is being undertaken for the construction of houses, by providing work for artisans, builders, engineers, and other skilled persons in the built industry, the construction sites have been and remain centres of supply for building materials and other commodities.
Mr. Babatunde Fashola, SAN, Minister of Works and Housing, SAN, spoke on the National Housing Programme, NHP, and revealed how State Governments could apply on behalf of their residents and indigenes for the houses currently being subscribed to from across 34 States of the country.
The ongoing Federal Housing Authority, FHA Mass Housing Project was recently inspected by the Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, to ascertain the level of completion of the estate, in readiness for the commissioning.
Keys to the National Housing Programme, NHP, in Owerri, Imo State, have formally been handed over by the to the project beneficiaries who have met the requirements and successfully completed payment for the houses they requested.
