The talent of Joseph Oluomachi Opara has opened doors of favour for him as Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma announced his decision to adopt him as his son.
Governor Uzodinma announced this after the video showing the little boy singing went viral on the internet.
According to the governor, his decision to adopt and sponsor the little boy from his primary school level to Catholic priesthood was in commemoration of this year’s fathers day, which was marked on Sunday, June 21.
“In celebration of fathers day, I directed that little 9-year-old Master Joseph Oluomachi Opara, the viral Imo State-born singer be contacted as I announce my intentions to adopt him as my child and to undertake, personally, to sponsor him from primary school level (his current educational level) to Catholic priesthood (his career choice).
Opara made waves on the internet at the weekend with videos of his unique rendition of some catholic hymns which marked him out as a specially talented kid singer.

His singing ability and sonorous voice attracted instant applause and commendations from the public.
The governor emphasised his belief in harnessing skills and talents and grooming them to be of better use to mankind.
He said he had directed the Imo State Commissioner for Information, Honourable Declan Emelumba to the family of the boy about his intention to adopt their son as his child.
Also, to take over the full responsibility of his training until he becomes a Reverend Father, which he said is his life ambition.
The governor, however, expressed optimism and prayed that Oluoma attains his full potentials in God’s time.
Meanwhile, before governor Uzodinma announced his intention to adopt the boy, former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode had tweeted that he was surprised after seeing how well the boy sang.
He said this after seeing the viral video showing the boy and asked his followers to help in tracing the little boy who has now become the adopted son of the imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma.
In the meantime, famous Nigerian Barman, Cubana Chief Priest has commended governor Uzodinma for adopting the boy as he also congratulated and wished the little boy best of luck and greatness.
