A road accident in Osun state has left one person dead and five injured.
This accident occurred on Thursday on Ipetu-Ijesha express on the Oriade Local Government Area of the state.
Kudirat Ibrahim, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander in Osun confirmed the accident to newsmen on Thursday.
According to Kudirat, the cars involved are a Toyota Sienna and a Mercedes truck with registration numbers, EKY 482GG and BDG 123 XA respectively.
She opined that the accident was caused by excessive speeding and wrongful overtaking.
Kudirat Ibrahim also said that the two vehicles are no longer blocking the road thanks to the efforts of her team.
On the injured persons, she said that they were receiving treatment in the Wesley Hospital in Osogbo.
She also warned road users to be careful to avoid accidents and unnecessary loss of lives.
