‘Ember Months’, known in Nigeria as the final four months of the year, that is September, October, November, and December, are mostly greeted with ritual killing, yahoo plus, kidnapping, accident, and robbery, just to say the least.
Lately, two men were apprehended by the Nigerian Police Force, NPF and they were found with human heads obtained for their ritual purposes.
Just yesterday, a young guy reportedly beat his girlfriend to death as he claimed she refused to remit the money he duped from a client that paid directly to his babe’s account number.
Neighbours around the area in Ogun State insisted that the youth had used the young girl who was in her year one in a higher institution, which was also used for ritual.
Thirdly, even though kidnapping had been ongoing for some years now in Nigeria, the level at which it has skyrocketed since the start of the Ember Months is at an alarming rate.
Usually, banks are no strangers to the havoc wreaked upon them by heavily armed robbers that have made it their point of duty to spend extravagantly during the festive period.
Then there are the avoidable, yet unavoidable fatal accidents on our highways, because many people travel to spend their holidays with loved ones and meet up with the road rush since others are also trying to beat time or avoid traffic.
