Residents of Akure, the Ondo state capital on Tuesday stormed shasha market along Ado /Owo expressway to buy and sell despite governor Akeredolu’s order closing all markets in the state.
Earlier, the state Government has issued a press statement to order the total closure of all markets in the state with an exception for people selling food, water and medicines.

The order was contained in a press statement signed by the Commissioner for information and orientation, Donald Ojogo.
According to the Commissioner, the move is part of measures to stem the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The total ban order on all markets across the State which was expected to take effect from Tuesday, 31st March, 2020 was ignored by some residents of Akure the state capital.
