A former military administrator, an office that is equivalent to that of a governor in a democratic dispensation, who passed on in Rivers State, is remembered for his leadership in office back then.
His name, Brigadier General Anthony Ukpo, was in 2021 confirmed dead by a man described as a close ally, Mr. Leonard Anyogu, who is currently the secretary of the Ogoja State Creation Committee.
It would be recalled that the committee was initially chaired by the ex-RiversState governor, Ukpo, where he made most impacts while he was active in the military regime.

It was also gathered that Brigadier General Ukpo was an ex-information minister during General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida’s regime.
Unfortunately, the news of the former military administrator, as at the time of filing this report, was announced on at a time when his service would have been required in Nigeria.
Of recent, the death of several politicians that have been active in one government or another, is starting to become rampant, even as many are still trooping out to contest for the forthcoming General Elections in 2023.
