Nigerian singer and one of the raves of the moment in the music industry, Rema has openly expressed love for his dialect and his determination to keep using it in his songs.
In a tweet, the singer who took pride in being an Edo born noted that he would forever celebrate his culture and particularly the Benin dialect which he infuse into some of his songs.
Rema further stated that he doesn’t care about whatever anyone has to say about how constant he uses the dialect in his songs even when they call it crazy.
The singer, who released a new song titled “woman” in a tweet on Friday said he won’t box himself to please anybody as he advised his fans to get used to his decision to infuse his local dialect into his songs.
Rema Expresses Love For His Dialect
You will recall that the singer was nominated for the BET Awards 2020 under the Best New International Act category, Rema was nominated alongside Zimbabwe’s Sha Sha, Celeste, Young T and Bugsey from the UK and France’s Hatik and Stacy, unfortunately he didn’t win the award.
However, his new song was the reason why he was one of the threads on Twitter on Friday, June 3 as many of the app users who have listened to the new song commended the young singer.
