The President of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernandez, his wife and two of his aides have tested positive for COVID-19.
President Hernandez aged 51 made this known in National address, saying he began having light symptoms over the weekend and felt unwell.
He said, “As president of the nation, and a responsible citizen, I want to communicate that during the weekend I started to feel more discomfort and today I was diagnosed as having been infected with COVID-19”
He, however, assured the country that he had enough energy and would continue working as the president from home. His wife and two of his aides have also tested positive for COVID-19.
Honduras currently has 9,656 cases with 330 deaths according to records from worldometer.
