President Muhammadu Buhari has taken a bold step against his serving Ministers that have so far purchased the Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms.
The President, in a news just breaking, outrightly asked them to resign their active positions, including members of the Federal Executive Council, FEC vying for any elective office in 2023 General elections.
Buhari asks Cabinet Members to Resign
He has ordered them all to immediately forward their resignation letters on or before Monday, May 16, 2022 to the relevant channels if they want to stand the chance to be in the 2023 Presidential Race.
Speaking on behalf of President Muhammadu is the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, who spoke on Wednesday, during the Federal Executive Council meeting.
Lai Mohammed said that the directive excludes the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, because he is an elected member of the cabinet.
He further revealed that any update to the new directive would be communicated to all the concerned parties, especially any amendments or additions to the instructions.
