A popular Lagos state senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, Adebayo Osinowo has died aged 64 years.
The Nigerian senator reportedly passed away after a brief illness on Monday morning.
A source close to the family revealed to newsmen that he had been suffering from high blood pressure for a couple of years and died due to this. On the suggestion that it might have been related to COVID-19, the source said it was unknown as the popular Lagos senator was extremely careful and avoided meeting people.
Senator Adebayo Osinowo popularly known as Pepperito was a four-time Lagos state house of assembly member and was elected as the senator representing Lagos East senatorial district about a year ago with the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
He died at the First Cardiologist Hospital in Lagos. The Lagos state government was thrown into mourning on learning of the passing of the senator.
