Ibrahim Magu searched and arrested again.
On Tuesday, July 7, police officers attached to the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department searched the home of Ibrahim Magu, the embattled Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC).
This happened at about 6.00 pm after he was interrogated by the Ayo Salami Presidential panel at the presidential villa earlier on Tuesday.
The suspended EFCC Boss was initially taken into custody after the first day of interrogation on Monday. There was another round of interrogation that was carried out on Tuesday and reports have it that he refused to cooperate with the panel while he was being quizzed.
After his interrogation on Tuesday at about 6 pm, the officers went to his house located on Abduljalil Street, Karu Site on the outskirts of Abuja and took vital documents with them. The police officers that searched his house were said to be the same ones that arrested him on Monday.
The source revealed that Magu was driven from the villa to the Force Criminal Investigation Bureau where he was on Monday
Some allegations made by the Attorney-Genenal of the Federation(AGF) against Ibrahim Magu include:
-Insubordination to the office of the AGF
-Alleged discrepancies of recovered funds in the reconciliation records of the EFCC and the Federal Ministry of Finance
-Disrespecting a court order to unfreeze a 7bn judgement in favour of a former bank executive,
-Alleged late action in the P&ID investigation.
-Delayed action on two vessels seized by the Navy.
-Not providing adequate evidence to extract Diezani Alison-Madueke.
-Entertaining and favouring some investigators known and ‘Magu boys’
-Selling seized assets to friends and associates
-Alleged issuance of investigative activities to some media, prejudicial to some cases.
-Reporting some judges to Their presiding officers without deferring to the AGF.
