The #OccupyLekkiTollGate and #DefendLagos factions have both planned to protest and counter-protest on Saturday at the same venue and at the same time.
The arrangements for Saturday’s protest began after the 9-member of the Lagos Panel of Inquiry approved the Lekki toll plaza’s reopening.
The chairman, Justice Doris Okuwobi and four others ruled in favour of another application by the Lekki Concession Company (LCC).
Others were DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Police), Lucas Koyejo (National Human Rights Commission), Segun Awosanya (Segalink) and Oluwatoyin Odusanya (Citizens Right).
Those on the opposition were Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), Patience Udoh (Civil society), Rinuola Oduala and Temitope Majekodunmi (Youths reps).
It is yet to be known whether the presence of the police officers at the toll gate now will influence the protests in any way.
