A self-acclaimed pastor, Uchenna Chukwuma has been arrested for allegedly killing a 60-year-old native doctor, Oliver Chukwudi Ugwu, in Umusiome area of Anambra state.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Haruna Mohammad said men of the Ogidi divisional police station were alerted immediately after the incident occurred.
According to Haruna, the clergyman said he was sent by God to kill the deceased native doctor adding that the native doctor was hindering his financial progress.
The police spokesperson stated that the victim was rushed to the hospital for medical attention where he was certified dead by the medical doctor on arrival.
He said the corpse of the native doctor was deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy adding that the machete used in perpetrating the crime was recovered as an exhibit.
However, Haruna added that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
