The Federal Capital Territory, FCT police command has arrested some suspected hoodlums, who looted the warehouses in Abuja following the order that was given by the Minister of the FCT, Musa Bello.
Everyevery.ng gathered that the Police also recovered some items stolen by the alleged looters after their arrest. The FCT Minister had earlier condemned the actions of the suspected looters as he also vowed to deploy security operatives to recover the looted palliatives.
Earlier, the Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has given hoodlums, who looted government and private assets in the state 72 hours ultimatum to return the looted items or face the full wrath of the law. Oyetola gave the order over the weekend while addressing newsmen during an assessment of some of the looted places.
He called on the hoodlums to surrender all the stolen items to security agents, traditional rulers, local government chairmen and community leaders in their respective domains adding that those who refused to honour the ultimatum would be tracked and brought to justice while promising forgiveness to those who heed the call.
However, the governor sympathised with the victims of the looted assets and assured them of the government’s support.
