Barely a fortnight after going viral for refusing to join a couple in holy matrimony after they arrived at the church 5 minutes late, the pastor involved in that wedding day fiasco has been reported dead.

Pastor Essay Oggory was at the centre of a shocking wedding day incident in Port Harcourt on 7th February, 2021, when he obstinately refused to wed a couple because they arrived at the church just 5 minutes late.
He ignored pleas and the sad cries of the bride, eventually stating that he would only wed them in his office, not the church auditorium. The couple did not agree to the proposal and left the church premises in anger and disappointment.
Pastor Essay was the lead pastor of Fulfilling Word Foundation in Rivers State, and he died on Tuesday, at the age of 55.
According to a report, the pastor dies mysteriously exactly a year after his wife, named Tonyemieba, died.
