The Ondo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) and the Zenith Labour Party, (ZLP) have cleared the air over the purported plan to connive as part of efforts to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC administration in the state.
Both the PDP and ZLP said the much talked about connivance is mere rumour. Babatope Okeowo, the media aide of the ZLP candidate said the Ondo state deputy governor does not need to ally with any political party, to win the election.
Also, Benson Enikuomehin, the media coordinator of the Eyitayo Jegede Campaign Organisation described the rumoured alliance as a typical tale by the moonlight.
Earlier, there have been speculations that the two political parties were planning to form a working alliance to win the forthcoming Ondo election.
However, the state deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi, who is also the governorship candidate of the ZLP denied the alleged plan as he also described it as a figment of the imagination of those making the claim.
According to a statement issued by the chief press secretary to the deputy governor, Babatope Okeowo, the publication was planted by Governor Akeredolu.
