In preparation for the 2023 Presidential elections, a former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has reportedly formed a new political party to feed candidates for the much-anticipated elections.
According to a report by Vanguard Newspaper, Obasanjo formed the party to accommodate aggrieved members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Vanguard quoted a source that Obasanjo formed the party because of the possibility of severe legal conflicts between the PDP and d the APC that would leave both parties in bad shape.
EveryEvery.ng gathered that the Ex-President is mobilising Nigerians to influence the emergence of the next President, governors and other leaders despite claimed that he had torn his PDP membership card and resigned from active politics.
Meanwhile, the name for the new political party has not been made public as of the time of filing this report; a close ally to the former President claimed that Obasanjo is afraid of the growing personalisation of the PDP by one man.
