The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, the Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II has approved the removal of the Ohenosa of Holy Aruosa Cathedral of Benin, Mr Harrison Okao.
Also, the Joint Elders Committee and some Senior Chiefs of the Oba Palace threw their weight behind the removal of Okao as the priest of Holy Aruosa.
According to the Secretary, Benin Traditional Council, Frank Irabor, the priest’s removal was due to a long-standing lingering breach and non-challant attitudes over several years.
The Benin Traditional Council accused the priest of breaching age-old custom and tradition of officiating as Ohenosa at the Holy Aruosa Cathedral of Benin.
According to Irabor, the Council’s decision to sack the priest is expected to bring lasting peace, sanity and tranquillity to the Holy spiritual environment.

Everyevery.ng gathered that the Cathedral is a unique church where Christians, Muslims and traditional worshipers come together to worship.
Its service was conducted on Eke market days but later changed to Sunday due to the working class’s inconveniences.
