As part of the activities lined up for Nigeria’s 60th Independence anniversary, the federal government has disclosed plans to present integrity awards to deserving Nigerians.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who made this known during a press conference in Abuja said the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is putting the country on a new path of sustainable development despite the myriad of socio-economic challenges.
According to the Minister, some of the activities include a public lecture and special Jumaat prayers on 25 September 2020 at Abuja National Mosque, and inter-denominational Church Service on 27 September 2020.
Other activities include the launching of the National Ethics and Integrity Policy as well as Integrity Award by Mr President to commemorate the 20th anniversary of ICPC, Presidential Broadcast on 1 Oc- tober, 2020, Guard Of Honour/ Anniversary Parade, historical exhibition among others.
Mohammed said the Buhari-led administration is working assiduously to build a new Nigeria, laying the building blocks for industrial and technological development by building massive infrastructures by developing human capital.
He added that the administration is also fighting corruption, tackling insecurity and diversifying the economy noting that Nigerians should celebrate
not minding the challenges in the country.
