Netflix has acquired EbonyLife film, “Chief Daddy.” The recent development means the movie becomes the third film from EbonyLife Films staple acquired by Netflix.
Released on December 14, 2018, Chief Daddy becomes the third exchange between EbonyLife Films and Netflix, after “Fifty” and “The Wedding Party”.
Viewers around the world stand a chance to access and watch the movie from March 15, 2019. This is according to a statement by EbonyLife Films.
Mo Abudu, the executive producer, said she is excited that the African people in diaspora will finally be able to access the movie on Netflix.
Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, the film tells the story of a Lagos-based billionaire, Chief Daddy. He suddenly dies at the dinner table. This development ushered a scramble amongst family members, household staff and mistresses for a slice of his fortune.
