Joi Nunieh finally testifies in NDDC probe; the House Summons Pondei, Akpabio on Monday.
Joi Nunieh, the former Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission has finally appeared before the house of representatives committee on NDDC on Friday to testify on the alleged misappropriation of funds in the commission .
For the past week, both Joi Nunieh and Sen. Godswill Akpabio have been mounting accusations against each other.
Nunieh accused Minister of Niger Delta, Akpabio of Sexual Harassment and embezzlement of funds while Akpabio claimed that Nunieh was lying and accused her of insubordination.
The House Committee is investigating alleged mismanagement of funds by the current interim management committee (IMC) of the NDDC.
Nunieh was reportedly supposed to testify on Thursday but due to the commotion that happened in her Rivers state residence with police officers who tried to prevent her from leaving her home, she couldn’t.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike intervened in the scene and was able to get her out of the situation.
The House committee public hearing on NDDC has summoned the acting Managing Director of the NDDC, Pondei and Minister of Niger Delta, Sen. Godswill Akpabio to appear before it on Monday to testify on the ongoing probe.
