Nigerian actress and show host Nancy Isime has stated that she stopped trying hard to please people.
In a recent interview with fellow actress Lilian Afegbai, the Edo-born actress revealed that suffering from trauma as a child made her a people pleaser.
Nancy Isime, who starred in the Netflix series ‘Blood sisters’, revealed that she did not get enough attention as a child, so while growing up, she yearned for people’s validation.
The 30-year-old model, however stated that she has gotten to a point where she no longer forces herself on anybody.
Nancy Isime said, “I don’t force myself on anybody. I used to be a people pleaser but that came from childhood trauma.
“It came from a childhood trauma where you’ll be looking for attention as a child and you didn’t get it.
“When you get older, you start waning people to like you. So even if it’s breaking you, even if you know that this person does not like you and has said sh*t about you, you think maybe they can change that mind.
“But learning to love me and being intuitive helped me to heal from being a people pleaser.”
